Biography

Kurb Saatus is a melodic doom/death metal band from Holland and has been around since 1994. It started out as a four-piece formation, but pretty soon a second guitar player was added.

In August of 1995 the first recording was released. This by a demo simply called "Kurb Saatus". This demo contained four tracks on which the band tried to mix different styles of metal in some sort of new form. To a large extent they succeeded at that point. Responses on the demo were diverse, but mostly positive.

In December of 1996 the vocalist left the band. A new vocalist was found soon, and this was pretty important too, because recordings were scheduled for February of 1997.

Some hard work had to be done, but in February of 1997 5 songs were recorded, 3 of which were released, with some delay, on a self-financed 3"MCD Called "Never Forgotten".
This MCD sounded a lot different than the demo, this mostly because of the better instrument-handling and the quality of songs. Also the recording-quality of a real studio like Excess made a lot of difference.
After the recording of "Never Forgotten" came a long period of no productivity at all, this was mostly caused by a growing tension between band members. This had to be stopped and in September of 1997 a guitar-player was kicked out of the band.

After some time a replacement was found.
New blood gives new inspiration so some old songs were re-written and new songs were created, every song being more melodic and up-tempo. 3 tracks were recorded for a promo-MCD in 2002.

At this moment new stuff is being created for a new recording session which will hopefully take place somewhere in 2004, SO BEWARE!
